Dear Friend,

As you know, I remain steadfast in my commitment to bringing down the rising costs of auto and homeowners insurance in the state of Michigan.

I have introduced several bills in the Michigan Senate that deserve consideration as we look for solutions in helping to create a fair and level playing field for every ratepayer in the State.

Detroit has some of the highest auto and homeowners insurance rates in the country, with residents paying two, three and even four times more than those in other parts of the state. However, I know that this is not a problem strictly limited to Detroit. The Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS) reports that they have received thousands of complaints from citizens all across the state regarding the high costs of insurance.

For this reason, I have created this site as a source of information sharing. You will find relevant and useful links about the insurance market in Michigan. As well, I have created a petition that allows you to show your support for achieving true and meaningful insurance reform in the state of Michigan. You can also feel free to share your own personal story about your frustrations and concerns with the high costs of auto and homeowners insurance in Michigan.

Thank you for visiting this site. Together, we can address and resolve the problem of skyrocketing insurance costs in this state.

Sincerely yours,

Martha G. Scott
State Senator
2nd District
